Official Opening for the New Look Bilborough Post Office: Graham Allen MP Cut the Ribbon

- Modern retail environment
- Service time extended by five hours on Saturdays afternoons
- Car tax added to range of Post Office services

To celebrate the launch of the newly modernised Bilborough Post Office, 81 Bracebridge Drive, Bilborough, Nottingham, NG8 4PL Graham Allen MP cut the ribbon at an opening ceremony at the branch today, Friday 22 November 2013.

Graham Allen MP said: "Everyone knows how important the post office network is in our local communities and I am delighted to have the opportunity to open the new-look Bilborough Post Office. The modern premises and Saturday afternoon opening will be welcomed by customers. I wish the agent, Muhammad Bhatti every success with the business."

Mr Bhatti said: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to modernise the Post Office and are very pleased to be re-launching it today for the community. It has been transformed and all the hard work has been worth it. Everyone likes the improvements and the fact we are also opening all day on Saturday is proving popular busy.”

He added: “I’d like to thank Graham Allen MP for coming today, all those who helped with the refurbishment with the event today and also my customers for their patience during the changes and their continued support.”

Post Office Stakeholder Manager Steve Bruckshaw said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Bilborough and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

He added: “The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches and this investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

The Post Office, now independent of Royal Mail, is the largest retail network in the UK, with over 11,500 branches. It is also one of the fastest growing financial services companies and is developing its online and telephony services.
