EAST FINCHLEY POSTMASTER ELLIOT JACOBS A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR INTERNATIONAL POST OFFICE DELEGATION

  • Visitors from Kazpost, the Kazakhstani Post Office, on week long fact finding visit to the UK
  • Delegation from Kazpost visited East Finchley Post Office, one of three London branches run by Postmaster Elliot Jacobs

On Tuesday 8th August, a north London Post Office hosted a delegation from Kazpost, the Kazakhstani Post Office, as part of their visit to the UK to understand more about the UK Post Office.

The delegation of 10, which included Mr Ainur Akhmetov, Director of the Department of Logistics from Kazpost, all commented on how pleased they were to be able to visit East Finchley Post Office, a branch which brings to life the Post Office’s branch transformation programme. The branch benefits from extended opening hours and a -modernised and open plan interior.

The East Finchley branch is run by Postmaster Elliot Jacobs, who also runs the Hertford and Potters Bar branches and is the Managing Director of UOE, an independent business supplies and services company.

Elliot Jacobs said:

“It was a fantastic to welcome the Kazpost delegation to East Finchley and I hope their visit to the branch was both memorable and informative. It was a pleasure to share my experiences with them, and to discuss the Post Office modernisation programme, which is helping to make Post Offices services as accessible and convenient for our customers as possible.

“I’m very pleased to now be running three Post Office branches. Being able to successfully blend my two businesses – the Post Offices and UOE - under a multiple franchising contract has brought great benefits to both, with customers enjoying the enhanced convenience of our modern branches.”

Elliot began his Post Office journey in 2014 after combining Post Office services with the fitting retail environment of UOE and his success hasn’t gone unnoticed, with customers praising the more modern premises and reduced queueing times in his branches. He was able to demonstrate how well his retail and Post Office services are working together to the Kazpost visitors, who concluded their visit with a clear insight into a modern and vibrant Post Office, belonging to a sustainable and thriving network, ready to serve generations to come.
