POST OFFICE REINTRODUCES BALANCE TRANSFER OFFER FOLLOWING CUSTOMER DEMAND

  • Post Office improves its Platinum Credit Card – with 0% on balance transfers for 18 months and a reduced fee of just 0.79%1

Post Office today announces revisions to its Platinum Credit Card which will now offer 0% on balance transfers for 18 months at a reduced fee of just 0.79%. This follows the success of a similar fee reduction this summer which proved popular with customers.

The card also includes 0% interest on purchases for three months and no fees on any purchases made overseas.

John Willcock, Head of Credit Cards at Post Office, said: “At this time of year, people will often think about how to get more out of their credit card. Following the overwhelmingly positive response to similar changes made last summer, Post Office has revised its Platinum Credit Card to allow customers to take advantage of a reduced fee on balance transfers.

“Post Office credit cards are accepted in 32 million locations worldwide and with no cash fee when you use the card to buy travel money at the Post Office, it is ideal for use at home or when going away.”

Applications can be made online (www.postoffice.co.uk/creditcard), over the phone (0800 169 2000) and at selected Post Office branches across the UK. The Post Office Matched Credit Card is provided by Bank of Ireland UK. Terms and conditions can be found at postoffice.co.uk/creditcard.

Ends

  1. An initial 2.98% fee applies but is reduced to 0.79% via a refund to the cardholders account within 90 days of the balance transfer transaction date. The reduced offer is for a limited period only. Balance transfers must be made within three months of account opening
