Press release -
POST OFFICE SCOOPS GOLD AND SILVER AT BRITISH TRAVEL AWARDS
Post Office has been recognised as the Best Foreign Exchange Provider at the British Travel Awards, building on last year’s silver award, while the business also scooped the second prize for its travel insurance – making it ten gold and silver awards for Post Office travel insurance over the last decade.
The British Travel Awards brings together a range of companies from across the travel industry, and the independent awards are the largest poll in the UK of consumer opinion on the performance of leisure travel and tourism providers. 74 categories span a huge variety of holiday experiences, including holiday extras, transport destinations and accommodation. This year, an impressive 775,023 votes were cast by the travelling public.
Rob Clarkson, Managing Director of Post Office Management Services - which looks after Post Office insurance - said:
“We’re really pleased to have brought home the silver award for our travel insurance, although we will of course be going for gold next year! We have dedicated much time and effort to making our products convenient for customers to buy and to ensuring they are accessible through all of our channels.
“Our customers have great trust in Post Office - we never take that for granted, and will continue working hard to put our customers and their needs at the heart of every insurance product we design.”
Owen Woodley, Managing Director of Post Office Money - which looks after travel money - said:
“We’re delighted with our award - our products and services are aimed at making their lives as convenient and simple as possible; whether they’re saving up for their next step in life; buying a home of their own; or getting ready for their travels.
“Being voted the best foreign exchange provider is a real endorsement of the fact that Post Office Money is doing a good job of providing our customers with the kind of service they want. That’s a real privilege for us, and we look forward to continuing to do so for many years to come.”
The two British Travel awards cement Post Office’s winning streak, with the business scooping no less than four awards in the last ten days. Last week, the Post Office won accolades for Best Overall Personal Finance Provider, Best Travel Insurance and Best Variable Rate Mortgage Lender at the prestigious Personal Finance awards 2017.
The Post Office offers a range of travel insurance options to suit every customer, including single trip, annual multi-trip and backpacker cover. Our policies can also offer ski, cruise and golf insurance, and there’s a 24/7 emergency helpline there just in case.
