Press release -
POST OFFICE TRAVEL INSURANCE CREATES NEW JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN GLASGOW
- 75 new jobs to be created in Glasgow’s Financial Services district
Post Office Travel Insurance will create 75 new jobs in Glasgow’s Financial Services district over the coming months, with further jobs planned for later in the year.
The new job opportunities will be created as a result of Post Office setting up a new business, Post Office Management Services Ltd, for its Travel Insurance services. The move will enable it to expand its award winning Travel Insurance product range to suit the changing needs of today’s travellers.
Since launching travel insurance in 2002 Post Office has quickly grown to be one of the leading providers and was the first to offer initiatives such as ‘Kids Go Free’. In addition the Post Office has been voted the 'Best Travel Insurance Provider' each year from 2006 to 2013 by the BritishTravelAwards.com.
Based at 6 Atlantic Quay, Glasgow, the new jobs will ensure that high levels of customer service are maintained whilst handling the anticipated growth in demand. This will help Post Office Travel Insurance fulfil its ambition of becoming the number one provider in this market.
Nick Kennett, CEO of Post Office Management Services said: “This is a big step for Post Office Travel Insurance as we create a new business, Post Office Management Services, to provide our new travel insurance products. We have chosen Glasgow as the centre for our plans to allow us to have the ability to grow our business and continue to maintain the high levels of service that our customers expect and demand from us.”
Minister for Business Fergus Ewing said: “The insurance and financial services sector has long been recognised as one of Scotland’s strengths given the skills and experience of our workforce. I’m very pleased Post Office is investing in Glasgow and Scotland by creating these 75 new and welcome jobs.”
Ends.
