Press release -

New Non-Executive Directors join Post Office

The Post Office has appointed two new Non-Executive Directors to its Board.

Ken McCall, chief operating officer of Europcar Groupe SA, and Carla Stent, who has held a number of senior positions in banking, private equity and retail industry, will join the Board this month.

Post Office chairman Tim Parker said: “I am delighted to welcome Ken and Carla to their roles with the Post Office.

“They join at a time when the business is making significant progress towards its goal of commercial sustainability, while at the same time facing big challenges in increasingly tough markets. I know that in bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the Post Office, our new Non-Executive Directors will make a big difference in supporting our transformation.”

Ken McCall said: “I am thrilled to be taking on this role with the Post Office, one of the most important and well-loved brands in the UK. I look forward to making a contribution to its turnaround as a member of the Board during these exciting and challenging times.”

In addition to his management board responsibilities at Europcar Groupe SA, Mr McCall is also Managing Director Europcar UK Group and is responsible for the performance and strategy of the UK Company and Group IT Services. Prior to this he was Chief Executive of DHL Express UK & Ireland and of TNT Asia, Middle East, African and Indian sub-continents.

Ken is also a Non-Executive Director of SuperGroup PLC and, having served two terms, will stand down from the Board in July.

Carla, a qualified chartered accountant, has held a number of senior positions in banking, private equity and retail industries. She has worked at Board level in several countries for organisations including Virgin Group, Barclays Bank PLC and the Thomas Cook Group.

Carla said: “I am truly delighted to be joining the Board of the Post Office Limited. As a child, I opened my first savings account with a post office and have always appreciated the important role that the Post Office plays in communities. I am inspired by organisations that have the customer firmly at the centre of their strategy, and which seek to balance commercial imperatives alongside social benefit: all of which are intrinsic to the strategy of the Post Office. I look forward to working with both the Board and the Executive team in contributing to the ongoing transformation.”
