Post Office appoints new Non-Executive Director to Board

Post Office has appointed to its Board a new Non-Executive Director, Brian Gaunt.

Mr Gaunt attended his first Board meeting today (25 January). He has replaced Ken McCall who has completed his second term as a member of the Post Office Board.

Mr Gaunt has most recently been the CEO of iForce, a company that provides supply chain support to the e-commerce sector, and Home Delivery Network Ltd, now branded Yodel. Until 2021, Mr. Gaunt was Non-Executive Chairman of Buy it Direct, an online electrical retailer, and is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Mosaic Fulfilment Ltd. Mr. Gaunt has previously been employed in senior Supply Chain roles by ASDA, Walmart and B & Q as well as serving on the Management Boards of Christian Salvesen PLC and The BigFood Group PLC.

Chairman of Post Office, Tim Parker, said:

“I am delighted to welcome Brian to the Post Office Board. His experience, particularly in the e-commerce sector, will be vital to us as we continue to develop and evolve our customer offering in the highly competitive parcel market.”

Commenting on his appointment, Brian Gaunt said:

“I am pleased to have been appointed to the Board as the Post Office implements its strategy to become a commercially sustainable and sought-after franchise with Postmasters at the centre of its business. The mails and parcels market is so critical to Postmasters and I look forward to sharing my experience in this sector with the Board and with the Post Office more broadly.”
