From today, the Post Office will sell Health Lottery tickets in over 11,500 of its branches across the UK.

Customers wishing to take part in The Health Lottery will now be able to buy their tickets at all Post Office counters giving them not only the chance to win £100,000 in prize money, but also help generate income for local health charities.

To date the Health Lottery has helped raise over £38.1 million for good causes in England, Scotland and Wales and this will increase further as the number of providers more than doubles this year.

The Health Lottery is made up of 51 society lotteries, each representing local authority areas. Tickets retail at £1 and for each one sold, 20p will be donated to carefully selected community focused initiatives across every area of the UK.

For those lucky enough to scoop a prize, £10 - £250 can be paid instantly at any Post Office branch by simply presenting the winning ticket at any counter.

Chris Parr from Post Office said:“With over 11,500 branches, we are delighted to be able to offer easy access to customers wishing to buy a Health Lottery ticket. Up and down the country, customers will be able to buy their tickets at any branch and those lucky enough to win can pick up their prize money too.”

Dominic Mansour, Chief Executive of The Health Lottery said:“This is a really key step in increasing The Health Lottery footprint and means that millions of people will be able to buy a ticket and support local good causes by stepping into their Post Office. Every Health Lottery ticket sold raises more money for good causes and gives players a chance to win. I’m very happy that our tickets are now on sale at the Post Offices up and down the country that are the backbone of the local community.”
